Default major as a aviation management

hello there
i am about to graduate with a bachelors degree in aviation management and i was wondering if anyone else has a similar degree and if they have used that degree for anything else other than the degree requirement at the airlines. The reason i would like to know this is that i will be working on my qualifications and ratings once i am finished and i was wondering what kind of jobs people get when they get the degree and what those jobs would like to see other than the degree.

A BS in aviation management is still a BS so it checks the box. That said, it doesn’t leave you with a backup plan should you be unable to complete your ratings for any number of reasons.

If I were you, I’d talk to a counselor at your school and take the handful of classes it will take to get a straight management degree while you’re flight training.

I’ve got a BS in AVM and consider it to be almost worthless outside of aviation.

Airport operations. Aaae.com usually has some good jobs posted. Most of them will pay more than your first flying job will

There are numerous jobs out there with which a degree in aviation might help you. I used mine to check the block to get into the military. IF that hadn't happened, I was going to use it to check the block for federal law enforcement. If that fell through I might have looked into many other aviation related jobs to include airport management or safety career fields.

Like much else - the degree is what you make of it and can open doors and rarely close doors.
