There's such a thing as a "top tier regional?"

He didn't think a thunderstorm on final while flying an approach was a big deal either.

In fairness to the original poster, I meet a lot of pilots who seem clueless about rudder use.

In the case of the original poster, however, it appears to be just one more in a litany of excuses.

Thing is, he's a good pilot, and has had a 100% training record ever since. He knew what he did wrong to get those busts, he owned them like a boss, and didn't have any lame excuses like the OP does.

Hey guys please don't be mean but I am curious about my chances for getting a job at endeavor especially after 5 failures. Here are checkrides and reason I failed.

Instument excuse : checkride was too advance for me at the time. My instrument training up to this point entails flying 30 miles from point a to b do a hold or approach. Things happened way too quickly and could not keep up with aircraft.

10/2016 Instrument Checkride : Depart from ISP to hold at CCC then transition to HWV vor 6 approach partial panel circle to land to going miss then ils 6 and finally gps at ISP. I failed due to not correctly identifying which runway was in use at HWV on vor 6 approach.

5 2017 Multi Commercial Add on excuse: My excuse here was that examiner made me too nervous than I already was. Ground went great but then examiner went bipolar in airplane and scream at any mistake I made.

Multi Commercial Checkride: During taxi examiner scream at the top of his lung since I was not using airport diagram at DAB and was familiar with route. Next during runup again since I was putting airplane into the wind instead of maintaining runup line. After that I fell apart. We depart south he ask me to do steep turns which was the worse I had ever done losing 200 ft. He then ask me to do slow flight and a 180 turn. During turn he failed engine I didn't notice gear was down and failed returning to airport.

5/2017CFI Excuse : No excuse here just had really bad luck in MIA area and was appointed difficult examiner. In MIA you are assign examiner by FSDO and have no choice in the matter to choose someone else.

CFI 1st attempt: Examiner failed me due to my rudder usage and not making runway during power off 180. Up to this point I flew piper aircraft which had rudder trim and I did not have any instructors which teach me to use rudders in turns. Examiner was ok with my rudder usage during maneuvers but during right turn he wanted coordinated right rudder and vice versa during left turn. For power off 180 airplane was unusually heavy even for arrow and would fall like a brick without power. Usually instructor would tell me we are doing that how I would do closer pattern but no warning from examiner so did not make the runway. I ask examiner after what I did wrong he suggest I kept the gear up until I was sure I would make the runway since that arrow was very heavy.

CFI 2nd Attempt : Examiner had me do over maneuvers in which I did correctly before for some reason. This time he failed me since he did not like the way I used trim. I realize I would never get my cfi with this examiner so went to Orlando FSDO instead.

Multi Commercial 2nd Attempt 6/2018 Did all maneuvers correct except I got distracted on single engine rnav approach. During approach to LPV got into severe turbulence. I notice dark cumulonimbus cloud while under foggles for approach (was already underneath clouds when I notice) and thought examiner would have me cancel or something. After getting the crap knock out of me I completely forgot what the hell I was doing and return to straight and level flight. Of course this led to full scale deflection and fail.

Please let me know what you think. I think I am just unlucky with checkrides but 5 is ridiculous.
I read about 8 lines... enough with the excuses... accept your failures... and frankly... 5 failures is too many.... choose another career path.. PLEASE!!!

Well, Mesa will still hire anyone with a pulse. No interview required.
I would probably place SkyWest lower than Mesa today... No single occupancy hotels during training etc. Lol.

Single occupancy hotel during regional training: THE defining criteria of a successful regional career. It won't matter at all if you get stuck chained to JO's oar for a decade as long as you had your own hotel room for a few weeks as a new hire.

You'd have to be insane to voluntarily choose mesa for any reason other than they are the only place which will hire you. People say they've changed, but as long as JO is there they haven't really. If he ever leaves, then they'd probably be similar to any other regional. But you don't want that guy holding a gun to your QOL and personal dignity.
