Default Canadian Rehabilitation

Does anyone know how long the process takes after you submit the paper work for rehabilitation? I was convicted 7 years ago for driving while visibly impaired and need the rehabilitation to be allowed to travel to Canada. Im waiting to hear back so i can finish application for some regional airlines.

Thanks for any information.

Not a lawyer, but happily I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

The OP is asking if anyone here has done this and how long did it take to receive the waiver once the Canadians had the required paperwork.

Yup, so he is. Guess that Holiday Inn Express wasn't so effective after all. Off to the TOD thread to self-nominate.

I flew into Canada and was offered a waiver on the spot. They can turn you away or give you a waiver... it’s at the discretion of the officer so YMMV.

An airline won't hire you in hopes you'll get a waiver the first time they send you to CA. If you have a DUI before getting hired, you'll need to get rehabilitated. Besides, what kind of human being could even live with himself without the official rehabilitation of the government of canada?

Mikey123 sent you a pm. I wouldn’t worry about that much. Most regionals are pretty forgiving this day and age. They’ll usually just keep you off routes to Canada.
