Been out since 2010. Is it time to. One
Hey ,
Been thinking about coming back lately. Left Comair in 2010 because I got a job offer ( not flying ) and was pretty sure I would be looking for a job in the coming months back then so I decided to leave. Turns out I made the correct choice then. Decided I would wait a few years for pay to come up (yes I started at 18/hr then). Life happened and couldn't take a pay cut to come back. Save the stories about commuting/crash pads/junior manning ext... been there lots, i know what it's like. Got 2500TT+ no ATP (wasn't required then) 2000 of 121 time. Haven't flown in years. I'm I to gone or could I make it back?? And if so what would be an option?? Appreciate any advise

Hey buddy
I was out since just after 9/11/01. Just got back in (July hire), and just got off of IOE last week. Get your stuff out to whoever you would like to fly for. Hit the books in class. You will do fine.
Turns out all that turbo prop flying back in the day is in fact valuable
Pm me for any other.
Good luck.

Most places will probably want you to “get current”. I only applied to 2 places, one wanted me to get current, the other (my current gig) didn’t care. I had >11,500tt with most of that in the 121 world. Plus 2 degrees. (Keep in mind-I hadn’t touched an airplane in 16 years, but flew a LOT of turboprop pre 9-11-01).
To get ahead of the power curve, if I were you, I would go get my first class medical and get a current passport. Then go out and get myself a BFR, and then an instrument proficiency check at a good flight school. Get together all your pertinent info that will be required for the applications—work history, addresses, contact info. Get official transcript from any colleges. Any recommendation letters. Any volunteer activities. Put yourself together an application “kit”.
Target the regional that you’d like to work for— and I’d be willing to bet money you’d be hired.
Come on man! Get going!

You'll be fine. If you can come back on the plane you flew before, it will be pretty easy.
Since you're older and rusty, learning a new plane will be harder, but from what I've seen of old-skool COMAIR alumni you should be fine either way.
