Speeding Tickets and Majors

Unfortunately I have 6 tickets on my record 5 speeding one stop sign. Three were in high school and 3 were in college. Its been three years since my last ticket. Only one is on my driving record but I put all of them on my airline apps just to cover everything just incase they find my court dockets or something like that.

Obviously this is not a highlight of me for the application process. I was wondering if anyone with a similar driving record had any insight with getting hired at a major with this. Im considering taking a driver safety course on my own and writing a quick explanation about how I was immature and now have grown from these tickets and took a course etc.

I have six, and one of them resulted in a suspension when I was 17.
That doesn’t show up on any database I’ve gone through, but I still disclosed it. I haven’t had anything significant in the last few years.
I was hired by many regionals and also by a major airline.
I was up front and honest.

You'll get hired. Probably not by DAL.

If you interview a DAL, just repeat that Top Gun "need for speed" scene. The issue will instantly be forgotten.

Not true. Since the OP hasn’t had one in several years and if their record stays clean until his potential interview, Delta will easily look past that. But PotatoChip’s advice is spot on; disclose it even if it’s not on your record, especially if the application asks you this specific question.

I had 4 speeding tickets and 1 illegal right turn on red. I was asked in my interview if “all that was behind me” and I said yes because I hadn’t had any tickets in many years.

Delta takes the whole body of work into account. That number of tickets may deduct points but if other parts of the OP’s application make up for it, this alone won’t necessarily keep them from getting hired.

I had about 5-6 in high school / first year of College. I was asked about it by my recruiter during the job fair. When I told him the last one was 14 years ago he didn't seem to care. IMO they care more about how long it's been since the last one.
