Flight Dispatcher

Hi,
I would like to know if it is difficult in the US to find a position of Flight dispatcher. I will be arriving in the United States next year and I intend to take flight dispatcher training before starting a flight training. I will save maximum money and try to work on my credit score for a loan.
Ideas on the current situation for flight dispatcher?

I don't think it's difficult.

Can you work in the US? The airlines all have dispatchers, Jeppesen does contract dispatching, many dispatchers there work from home.

Thanks!
Yes I will be able to work in the US. Currently waiting, my Employment Authorization Document will come really soon.
Do you think that the knowledge of a flight dispatcher can help for pilot training?

The 121 regulations are the same for pilots and dispatchers, the written covers the same material. It’s a great backup for losing your medical.

Any idea about the pay ranges?

The dispatcher career is a lot like the pilot career with fewer players. Starting out at a regional will be in the 30k-40k range, a senior dispatcher at a major can be pushing 6 figures and sleep at home every night.

Actually senior dispatchers at quite a few of the majors are well into 6 figures more like 150k+ a year. Pretty good return on investment considering it takes only 200 hrs to obtain an ADX most of which you can even do online. But like you said very few players in that group but if you can get to the top of a major at some point it's a pretty good gig.

Is there a short-cut for an ATP certificate holder to obtain their Dispatch certificate? I thought there was in the past, but it looks like the rules may have changed recently.

AC 65-34 is a bit vague
