they want structured, regimented programs to include your professional flying job on the road to the majors. annual sim events, check rides, etc? in-service training ? safety schools ?

I would do everything you can to make yourself competitive from Day-1.

DAL kind of resembles your comments. The others to my knowledge are far more interested in your professional experience and whole-person factors. Most people in aviation know that all entry-level civilian training is essentially the same stuff (driven by market forces), except that a 141 university grad probably has a much better grasp of complex weather theory and airport management.

Military training is of course highly valued because there's screening/competition to get in, and there's stress and screening at every step along the way, plus you typically have ten years of dynamic turbine flying before you even apply to an airline.
