FAA Air Carrier..
Anyone know anyone with recent interview/checkride/oral gouge?
I applied a month and a half ago and was referred, but I sort of figured nothing would happen during all of this. I got a phone call day before yesterday telling me they would like to do my panel interview by phone. I’m just curious if anyone has any recent insight on what to expect or how the process plays out. Thanks in advance.

IIRC, the first question is to basically tell them everything you've done in aviation. Start with the beginning and go up until now.
Other questions are "Tell us about a time when you had a confrontation with an emotionally charged individual, and how did you deal with it.", or "Tell us about a time you dealt with an aircraft emergency and how you dealt with that".
Remember, every story has a start, the middle and an end" Don't embellish, but also give enough detail so the story makes sense.
You'll probably be asked about SMS, and if you have any working knowledge of it. I'm sure some who recently interviewed can give you a better picture.
Best advise, relax and sound positive, and speak up and clearly.

Its a great time for this opportunity. If you can speak 121 and have basic knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) (14 CFR Part 5), you will do well in the interview. Good luck and try to relax!

I did the interview in January. It is about how DannyDevito explains Mine was one on one. It`s a little awkward in that when the question is asked the interviewer turns off his phone and it`s dead silence. You feel like you are talking to a wall, because there is no back and forth, you just ramble on, in the order that`s asked. You have 1 hour, I finished in 30 minutes. I thought I had done horrible, but an offer was made and I was to take a check ride this month, but it`s been delayed of course.

Yeah, it was so awkward! I had two people on the conference call. Took me about 30-35 min. I feel I did terrible. I had a guide to using the STAR method for behavioral interviewing, but over the phone with no feedback or interaction just felt like I was rambling to myself. How long was it from interview to notification about moving forward? Can I ask what FSDO or CMO?
