I'm at a similar situation here as well...

I'm currently at a 135 with around 2000 TT. My end goals is United. I have a CJO with Skywest, an interview with Frontier, and an interview with Flexjet. The best QOL right now is Flexjet and it'd be most similar to what I'm currently doing. I do like going to unique airports and the pay/benefits are good at Flex. Do you think it's possible to make it to a legacy eventually without any previous 121 time?

It absolutely is. If I was you, I'd go to Flex hands down. The regional model is in for a rough/unknown road over the next 3-5 yrs. 91K/135 has only grown since the Rona. It's a great place to be for the next chapter of your career. Good luck

Have a few friends that have been sitting for months waiting for training at the regionals. This I could get started right away and start building turbine time. Ultimate goal is the majors or possibly cargo. I知 literally split right now in the fork in the road. Lol
Since you asked for someone's $0.02.
Stick it out instructing. 100 hrs a month, you'll be there in 5 months. Go to a 135 op and you'll spend 2 months of that in training building zero hours. Then, depending on the operation, you will not get 100 hrs a month. So, those last 500 hours could very well take you 8-12 months.
Unless you want to see what flying part 135 is all about and build a little experience while taking a slight delay to your end goal, go for it. Certainly isn't a "bad" choice, just a longer path to the same end goal.

Instructing is an invaluable way to build knowledge. In my opinion, your decision may hinge on your pay. While you may not build 100 hrs a month, the pay may be better and you will get some real world day to day operations. Any operational experience will be invaluable to your possible employers when you get to that point.

Thanks for the response man. As an update, I didn't get the flexjet job but I did get offers at Skywest, Frontier, Amerijet, and Jet Edge.

I think I'm going to end up taking the Jet Edge offer since I'll be able to continue doing corporate aviation which I enjoy, I won't have to do night stuff like I would in Cargo, and I won't have to commute or move to base for Frontier. Although times will get tough in the future for the majors when it comes to hiring, there are many retirements and lots of growth. Not enough people coming means more opportunities for those building turbine time each day, whether it be 121 or 135. Hopefully this response doesn't come to haunt me in 5 years lol.

Thanks!
