Default Traffic Ticket Reduced to Parking Ticket Ques

Hey guys,

Quick question regarding the traffic ticket section on airline apps.

I recently applied and got hired by a legacy and I’m questioning my response to an answer on airlineapps in which I may have made a mistake.

Over 8 years ago I got a ticket for wrong way driving which was reduced to a parking ticket in court. When answering the question about traffic tickets on airline apps, I put down this event as a parking ticket. Would it have been better to put down the original violation? Am I in the wrong here?

Id think it would be hard to say I’m being deceitful since this still points to the original violation. Ive also had a couple tickets I know there is no record of but still listed on the application.

Am I just overthinking this?

Yep.

To be more specific, had the court thought what you did was egregious enough or had evidence enough to convict you on the more serious charge, they needn’t have agreed to the plea bargain.

As long as you reported it, the final disposition should be fine in this case.

They don't care about the specifics of garden variety moving violations and parking tickets, they just don't want a lot of them, or a lot of them recently, or a lot of them after you're old enough to know better. 3-4 tickets around age 20 with none in the last 10-15 years should be a non-issue. They also don't want to see stuff like reckless, street racing, etc.

DUI is where they may ask "have you ever been arrested", even if dropped to a lesser charge. Have to read the fine print.

Some states don't allow them to ask about arrests, only convictions, so that varies by airline. FAA/Fed can ask anything.

Just wondering how you ended up with dealing with this.
Did you mention it in your application?

I have had quite a few tickets that were dropped to parking violations or were dismissed, not sure if I should mention about them or not?
