Shoes…yes shoes. (And your favorite items)

What kind of shoes are you guys at the airlines wearing? Would want something non metal for security and comfortable enough to wear on a layover.

Just went through my last pair and trying to see what’s out there.

Also, for conversation, what are some things that y’all couldn’t go without on a trip?

apparently the Chelsea boot is all the rage. Just be sure to avoid the "block toe" unless you want to get pointed at and made fun and have sore feet.

Someone else recommended those for me last week. How do you know if they don’t have metal in them?

They often specify composite shank, as a weight reduction feature. I think shoes are more likely to have that nowdays, unless we're talking heavy duty work boots.

I wear Timberland Chelsea boots and love them. Johnston & Murphy make a very nice pair as well. My next pair will be RM Williams, but that'll be an upgrade gift to myself (they're about $500).

I don't go on a layover without running shoes and a handheld hydration pack.

Never go cheap on footwear.

Other items:
1. Extension chord. Sometimes the outlets at hotels aren’t where you want them.
2. Pajama bottoms. More comfy for lounging in your room (and sometimes I’m not so sure about the bed linens [emoji51]).
3. JBL bluetooth speaker. I have a small one that costs about $50 on Amazon.

Eccos. Tried and true. Durable as hell. Won't set off metal detectors.

Old Irish saying, never short yourself on shoes or bedding, if you are not in one, you are in the other.
