Awesome to hear. Appreciate the insight. It's not my first choice but I do think a happy family is important. We'll see what the future holds

It’s absolutely doable. I’ve commuted my whole airline career (9 years post military) and commuted to a reserve job for part of that. Commuting is mental. Embrace it, and make it work. For instance, I don’t watch TV at home other than occasional news and a few Netflix series with my wife. I watch a lot of Amazon and Netflix on the commute, read, listen to podcasts. I don’t get too stressed about it, I certainly don’t calculate lost time, I assume I’ll need an occasional hotel. I take it as a chance to transition from home to work life and vice versa. I get DHD only last day of trips when I can. My commutes were much farther than yours. DEN to PHL/CLT/LAX/DFW. We tried moving to base last year near both jobs, but we didn’t care for it and decided I actually prefer commuting to living in that particular base, so we moved back to Colorado.
Commuting, and the airline lifestyle are what you choose to make of it. For some commuting doesn’t bother them, for some it eats them up. Some love the airline lifestyle and job, some are miserable. Try to be positive, prepare your wife’s expectations, and prepare for a ****ty first year that rapidly improves.
