Pretty much have to wait and see, pretty much.
But if you have the flight time, they're obligated by law to hire you, so you should hear pretty much right away.

It depends on the airline, their specific circumstances at this moment, and on your qualifications. By "qualifications" I don't mean flight experience and other professional qualifications although some of that might help... I mean whatever flavor of the week HR is looking for today.
You need to ask specific questions in specific airline forums to get a sense for what's really going on. There's no one size fits all airlines answer.
