Hi!

I have my NDR. It's empty, because I've never had an alchol incident.

I have lived in WI for 15 years, and my WI record goes back 5 years-I have the WI record.

I was worried about past tickets in other states and/or WI that are old (all non-alchohol related and minor: speeding, failure to yield).

I can't get a record of them, but some people say the airlines can find them anyway.

I don't have any problem telling them about the past tickets, I just don't have much info: dates, exact citations, etc.

I'm assuming if I bring in my WI record, and tell them I've had tickets in the past that aren't on my record, that will be OK.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Driving Record USUALLY Not An Issue
 

Be honest.

The airline you interview at is looking at the WHOLE picture and any moving violations are "usually" not an issue.

Have the information available, how it was resolved, but offer the information ONLY IF they ask. Then tell them the truth. Don't embellish, just state the facts very briefing and then STOP talking.

Most likely it will be a non-event. There is so much more ground to cover than your driving record.

I've been through three airline interviews and they have never asked me about my driving record though in my package I had copies of my driving record from every state I lived in and there was one speeding ticket in there.

Best advice you'll ever get on this forum !!

Tell the truth and you'll probably be fine. Don't waste your money bringing a copy of your driving record. Any major carrier is going to pull your driving record with your state's DMV as part of their "homework" they do on ALL applicants.

I live in Ohio, currently working for a trucking company, i had our HR person call Columbus to find out how to obtain a 'certified' 5 year driving record and they told him that you can only get a 3 year copy! Said no agency in the state can give you a 5 year record.

Any clue as to what to do next? My interview is a few weeks away and it says i have to bring a 5 year certified copy.

going to traffic school does it still show up on your driving record?

No. The whole point of taking traffic school is to have the court dismiss the ticket and prevent the ticket from ever reaching the state's DMV. There's a process. Cop...Court...then DMV. Traffic school cut's it at the court level. (Dismiss)

Just be careful, two years ago I did the online traffic school thing, and recently when I was switching insurances, my agent brought that ticket up, I was shocked, I thought it had been cleared, but sometimes shady online traffic schools don't do their job right, and I failed to keep records to prove that I had taken it, just be careful when picking a school.

Uh, yes. It does in my state. Probably differs from state to state, but my driving record lists the infraction and indicates that I went to driving school.
