Not any longer. The exception being that any time that I receive training (dual), I will make sure that I receive an endorsement of some type from the instructor. (This is generally in the form of a sticker that I place into my paper logbook):

I put that into the back of my paper logbook (the printout) on a separate piece of paper, and then reference the entry in the electronic logbook in the remarks section. "Instructor Endorsement Attached"

Please excuse this slight deviation from the thread, but Lori, I have wrestled extensively with how to deal with logbook errors. We all want a perfect logbook, but as we all know in aviation, perfection eludes us. I have discovered a couple of big errors in my book, and am heading into a big interview soon. If not the ledger green correction fluid, how do you suggest fixing them? Leaving them is not an option for me. There probably isn't time to get and complete an electronic log, as I have 3 thick books full of entries and the interview is in a week. :o

A good way to fix errors is to simply make a corrective entry for errors on previous pages. (Much like you might do for your checkbook).

Use parenthesis for subtractions, or add corrections as appropriate and annotate in the remarks section the date for which you are making the correction along with the reason that you are doing so.

It might look something like this:

3/7/08 1.0 Remarks: Added one hour to total time to correct calculation error made on 1/14/2003.

I'd suggest using a separate line for each error.

Why are you concerned about someone seeing these entries?

The best way to correct errors is to make a correcting entry referencing the original entry page.

Not at all concerned about them being seen, just concerned about them being uncorrected. Just thought that ledger green is more neat than page after page of cross outs. I've already used the ledger green. Is it assumed that I'm hiding something? I have removed PIC time that didn't qualify, and corrected adding mistakes. Hope this doesn't sink me in the minds of interviewers. It's already been done.:eek:

Excel is fine, it is a bit of a chore to sort all the times.

Not to hijack this thread, but how can i upload a excel file onto a thread? I created an excel that can sort all those tedious flight hours thats required from those airline apps.

I do both. I usually log the flights on paper right away, and enter them into Logbook Pro whenever it's convenient. LBP is really just a backup for me, and it's also easier to have it calculate the "hours in the past 90 days" than it is to go through the paper log. It's also useful to add your own time columns. e.g., I have a column labled "X-C 50+" which is my XC time thats 50+nm (still logging it for ATP). My paper log obviously doesn't have that, all XC time is lumped into the XC column... but in LBP, I'm able to seperate it as needed.
