The problem with applicants with a record is that there are thousands of applicants with clean records. With the lawsuit happy society we live in today, why would a company take the risk of hiring someone with a record with so many applicants out there without one?

Why is that racist and ignorant? It may not be PC, but when was anything Political ever correct?

Do you know what would happen to me if I were in a European Country illegally? Yep - I'd be tossed out on the next ship home (read deported), if not jailed first. Why should it be any different here? Maybe we have a lousy reputation because we cannot protect our own borders. After all, it was a group of men here illegally that killed nearly 3000 Americans on September 11th, not to mention the fact that they nearly destroyed the Industry we trust our livelihood to.

Just curiosity here, what happens if you get a DUI while employed at an airline(especially one that serves Canada on a regular basis)? Would you go on a Leave of Absence till you could re-enter Canada or could you find yourself fired?

Get over it. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Seriously, you're digging up racism in a "Maybe she's illegal" comment? Hike up your skirt, clean out the sand, and grab your purse Alice...

Kid in Car Crash - you need to chill the f out. It's a car crash...they happen...a lot...to everyone. You're life isn't over, it's not screwed up, you're not alone in this world or any of the other melodramatic crap you've typed on to the interweb. You got in a car accident. Deal with it. Sure it's not fair, sure it sucks, sure it's gonna cost you, but it's not the end of the world.

MCLEACH71, I'm going to send you a PM, I'd like to hear about your interview experiences if you are getting ready to start since our situation is very close to being identical.

PS... to the poster that said you did not have to disclose an arrest, I think I'd rather disclose it rather than not tell them, get hired and later get fired from a 121 job and have that on my pilot record... that would make life pretty much impossible...

if pm doesn't work, just add "@hughes.net" and email me

My point in pulling my FBI record was to see if I did need to disclose the arrest. If nothing showed up, I would have alot more flexibility in downplaying the issue. But, it does show, and I need to be prepared to talk about it. HR cannot ask about an arrest, but they can ask if you've ever been charged with a crime. If you say "NO", and they find the arrest record, out of ground school you go.

That poor underwear eating fool looks like he's 30, not 18... find a razor man and stop eating the dingle berrys...

MCLEACH71... thanks for the email address, I'll be emailing you tomorrow unless you have enough posts to PM by then.
