Lori and Rickair,
Thanks for your reply. I recently had an interview that along with the basic ATP Quest/and so forth had about 100 Physc questions. Three of them were " Would you like to drive a race car?,Would you drive a race car?, and Have you ever driven a race car?" I told the truth and after a few other HR questions they basically said goodbye. Later sent a notice saying "your skills do not fit our needs" . I assume that is a basic reply to all applicants that do not get the job. But I will say that after answering the racing questions the interview went south fast. It was for a small airline flying Caravans/Part 135 with passengers. They told me at the beginning of the interview that I had more time and experience than most of their hires. Then my next interview was with another Part 135/Company flying freight in C-402. The D. O. asked me about my racing career and basically I took your advice. Then he asked me a few technical questions and said "Hmmm..when can you start training" I am content with the conditions/equipment/pay. I realize for most it is not the premier pilot job (Regional,Major Airlines, Corporate Jet) I just feel good about telling the truth. I can't imagine getting called in later to answer questions about the past I left out. Thanks for your advice,I appreciate it very much. By the way Rickair,I hope that isn't you in the photo with the huge flame!

Shame on those other guys for not hearing you. Sounds like you presented well and were really heard at the last interview. Good for you!

Good luck in the future

Hey guys, what are some good things to pad your resume with?... aviation and non-aviation related.

I've just been lookin at mine recently and it just doesn't have anything that makes it stand out... I need some stuff to spice it up a little bit. Any thoughts on things I can do/learn that people are interested in seeing?

Do you have any group affiliations? How about hobbies or interests? Not the typical long walks on the beach stuff, but real passions. You want to "connect" with your reader and this stuff can connect on a deeper level.

Do you have an achievements or awards? Be proud of them, aviation or not. This shows a plugged-in, go-getter.

What kind of group affiliations?

and not really, that's the issue... I don't have that interesting of a past, I just partied and bummed on the lake all day. I figure my only option to dazzle anyone is to make up for it in the future, just don't know how?

I've thought about volunteering at our local fire dept. and getting an EMT cert., I guess that's a start, and maybe becoming fluent in another language?
