Multi currency
Do airlines care? I never heard much about it when I was interviewing but I was current on it back then. I have a pretty decent amount but I'm sure like most others that are furloughed and flying GA or CFIing, I haven't kept up on multi flying at all. From what I saw IFR currency helps a lot more than seminole time in a pt121 sim session.

All of the interviews I had scheduled and went to before this absolute latest downturn, even when those who would take their CMEL during their airline SIC ride, needed to have MEL currency. Most places wanted 10 or more hours in MELs in the last 6 months, some wanted (and weren't getting) 100 MEL in the last 6 months. If nothing else, the day before your interview, go up and do three touch-n-go's so you can say you're multi "current."

While IFR currency (and proficiency) is much, much more critical to your training success than ME currency the generally accepted practice in the industry is to arrive at an interview 100% current for the job you are applying for. Otherwise, you will likely get sent home.
I doubt that a lot of emphasis is placed on recent ME time other than currrency. |

MEI Time
Sounds like it's time for the MEI. I did it back in February when the charter flying started slowing down. Been averaging about 10 hours per month instructing twins since. Not a lot, but enough to stay relatively current and continue building MEL time.

Well let's hope recruiters pay attention to the industry and get consulting from company pilots on this. There's going to be a whole bunch of us ****ed when a recruiter offsets 600 hours of multi experience for not having more than 10 the last 6 months. :eek:
