Career Decision..PLEASE HELP
Hey guys and gals..I have a question..and I'd like to know your opinion's on it..
I am currently at a 135 flying a saab 340 and still in the right seat..im coming up on 1.5 years..i have about 1400tt and 1200 of that in the saab... there's a good chance that in the summer I'll be able to get on with Shuttle America...but... Is it more beneficial for me to go to SA in the right seat of a jet?...or do i stick it out at the 135 operator..with chances of upgrading probably sooner than at the regional... only thing is..the 135 pays poorly..no pay scale...no cass or any agreements with other airlines...the only good thing about this company is that they hired me with low time. suggestions and opinions are welcomed! |
What are your long-term career goals? How important are flight benefits to you? Will you have to commute if you work for SA? Can you live on 1st year FO pay?
You're the only person who can make this decision, because only you know what you want out of life. If you're looking for specific information on what schedules are like at a regional or what the flight benefits are like or how difficult commuting is, then ask those questions. |
What's the upgrade time prediction for Shuttle America? If 121 is your goal then I'd say go for the SA job. You have room to grow with SA....

What are the chances of getting hired at a Pt 121 LCC ( Jet Blue, Airtran, Aliegiant, Spirit...etc) with Pt 135 turbine PIC time and a bit of previous Pt 121 experience? Just exploring options I may have once things turn for the better.
