Is it alright to show up at an airline interview with an electronic logbook?

I used a paper logbook that spanned all my flight training and some of my first flights as an instructor. However, once that logbook was full I started to use an electronic logbook only. If I'm logging instruction I do have a paper logbook for the instructor to sign.

If an interview arises I plan on printing it out and putting it in a nice folder. I haven't been putting any comments on my electronic logs, just the flight times. Is there any issue with this?

Nope shouldn't be a problem in the slightest. You'll probably want to bring along your old paper books as well.

I've gotten three jobs by taking my electronic log book to the interviews. Fedex do a great job of printing binding it for you, all for less than $15 dollars. They make it look really sharp and the interviewers commented as such.

I have also scanned all my sign off's and endorsements so and placed them at the back of the logbook. I have full paper logbooks that mirrors my electronic one in case they want to see the originals of anything (which so far they have not).

Electronic log book is great for ensuring no errors in the paper one, a good balancing tool for checking correctness of your paper one.

Is there a less expensive one than Logbook pro that is comparable in features?

Digital seems the way to go
 

I use a program that I created with Microsoft Excel and would also recommend Leather Binder :: Leather Binders, Scrapbooks, Photo Albums & 3 Ring Binders for the binder. They did a great job with it and it looked great.

Keep it organized and easy to maneuver. I also have a paper book for sign offs and scan them into the digital book. Then I put it into my Google docs and I don't have to worry about misplacing it, theft, fire or water damage.

Keep it simple and clean.

I've been using the e-logbook spreadsheet in the downloads section of the APC site. Works good for me. Not as fancy as logbook pro, but works just the same and a good check and balance with the paper logbook

i also use an excel spreadsheet logbook that a friend of mine created. works pretty good. just enter my times in the spreadsheet and then every so often copy it all into the paper log. seems to help me catch mistakes.

only problem is i haven written in my paper log in a while.;)

Exactly what I do too.
Since I still have all of my paper logbooks though - do the pages of the electronic logbooks ALSO have to be signed off individually? I look at them as only an easier way to read my originals and have not being signing off each months.

I'm pretty sure I do the same thing as you and use the spreadsheet to do the math and keep everything organized. I'm pretty sure that if your paper logs match the spreadsheet then having only your paper log sheets signed is good enough.

Keep in mind that your logbook is your diary. You sign it to attest that the statements made therein are truthful. If you are presenting your original logs, which are signed, then there is no need to present the computer printout. If you are presenting your printout only and not your original logbooks, then I recommend a signature.
