1K PIC Turbine

I am looking for a little career advice. Here are my times:

Total: 3750
CRJ: 3500
PIC CRJ: 292

and I'm not a Captain anymore b/c furloughs downgrades at Mesa. So, I figure to be ready for the next hiring boom, I'd like to have 1,000 PIC Turbine so that I can apply to Southwest, FedEx, all the good one's ya know. I hear that SWA will take even single pilot, single engine PIC Turbine time. So, I'm considering leaving Mesa for, say, a FedEx feeder so that I can fly as PIC of a Caravan or something. The problem is that, unbelievably, this would be a pay cut, fewer benefits, and altogether more difficult. But, if it's a good investment in my future, I'd do it. So, is it worth it?

Also, which one would be a good bet to get PIC Turbine the quickest? Are there any with bases in Oakland or San Francisco? Who's hiring?

Thanks a ton, in advance.

All US major airlines will gladly accept single engine turbine PIC...as long it is in one the following airplanes:

F-16
AV8-B
F-35 (if have this in your logbook you will be hired for sure)

They only allow SE turbine PIC for the sake of the fighter pilots...caravan time alone won't cut it. Your case is unusual...with a little 121 turbojet time they might actually consider you but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, there's only one way to find out.

BTW, anything is better than mesa...trust me.

Haha. Thanks for that. Southwest will take that Caravan time I'm pretty sure. I've heard from multiple Southwest pilots. But that's putting all the eggs in one basket for sure, cause I think you're right about other airlines.
And there is a difference between qualified and competitive.

Tim Martins has F-35 time.
