Question for those on the hiring board...

I know someone that knows someone that got in trouble with the Faa a year and half ago. He/she now has and interview with a certain blue company. My question is if this person and a spotless 121 record except for this issue and it is getting expunged in 6 months is this a serious problem? This person understands that he/she will need to own up to it. Is it still possible to get hired? Do any of you know anyone that got hired with past problems with the Feds? This person just had a bad day caught in a bad sitation with mx. Serious answers please. Thanks for your input.

Without knowing the exact circumstances it's tough to tell. But considering that a wide variety of experiences and mistakes make up the population of folks working at every company out there, no single incident is an automatic disqualifier unless it was obvious and willful negligence. (And even then some companies have show leniency).

"Past problems" covers a lot of territory. I know a fewl folks who work at various national/legacy/major airlines that have had violations, including one that was an ADIZ/Restricted Airspace suspension.

Attitude will dictate a lot. Assuming that this individual checked the appropriate boxes on the application, the company is at least willing to hear their side of the story.
