Obtaining Driving Record

I received a call for an interview for the 6th of December the day before Thanksgiving and in hand they need a copy of the driving record. Problem is, the state says "allow two weeks" for processing.

My question is, how forgiving and understanding is an interviewer going to be of the circumstances and are they willing to take an instant (unofficial) copy until the results are in...

Simply explain to the interviewer the circumstances, and ask how you can expidite the official copy to the right individual when it arrives. Should not be a problem, and you might even have it in hand before the interview. Good luck.

Thanks for the reassurance. I've heard more people say the same thing, just easy to feel uneasy about it.

Did you physically visit the DMV or request it via the Internet? If you can, go in person and you should be able to walk out with a print out.

Tennessee unfortunately only issues them through Nashville via a mail request. So overly bureaucratic its ridiculous.

Wow - that is really stupid! I've always just gone to my local DMV, took a number, waited all day, paid my $5 and got a print out.

Hope you get it fast!

Request your DMV report and pay via credit card. The DMV should issue you a receipt along with a tracking number.

Take the printout of your receipt along with your tracking number along with you to the interview. The documentation should be adequate proof that you ordered the report, and the DMV was unable to provide you with the report in time for your interview.

Anyway, the airline will be able to access your DMV through the national Drivers License Record.

How many years need to pass by to clean up your driving record?

The report from the National Driver Registry is free and takes about two weeks to arrive. A notarized letter is required with all of your vital statistics on it, the link is on NHTSA dot gov.

I think an NDR request is not the same as a DMV request. Am I wrong?
