Foreign four-year degree ok?

Hi there, first post from me. Great forum!

I am a NetJets Europe pilot considering getting a BSc in Airline Transport Operations from the Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland.

My plans for the future may include living and working in the States and seeing that most emloyers either require or prefer a four-year degree I was wondering if a non-US degree will be accepted.

I would be very grateful for any help you guys can provide.

The US Department of Education keeps a database of all accredited institutes in the US, but this does not extend to foreign institutes. I'm sure Ireland or the EU has a similar agency, I would simply verify that your school and degree shows up on their list as an accredited 4-year institute and program. If an employer has any questions, simply refer them to that government agency.

Thanks guys. I did find out that the WIT is accredited in Ireland. I also found NACES, the national association (of foreign) credentials evaluators. Delta for example require foreign degrees to be evaluated by one of their (NACES) members.

The reason I am interested in this particular degree course is that it gives credit for having a JAA ATPL resulting in a course duration of only two years part-time (distance learning plus on-site seminars).
