Discrimination?.....the Navy almost DQ'd me for being too tall, I don't think "discrimination" was a factor.

The military limits pilot physical dimensions to the most limiting cockpit in the inventory (usually a fast-mover). They don't want to have any limitations on what aircraft they can assign you to after training, even though you would fit just fine in most transports or helos.

Airliners have plenty of head and and leg room (once get into your seat).

If Kareem Abdul Jabbar can do it, so can you! :D

Mil aviation screening is usually for "sitting height". Mostly for ejection seat purposes.

In my aircraft, you need to meet both a nude body weight (range) and you need to be able to fit a "closed fist" between your melon and the canopy....this will ensure ur head doesn't become the canopy breaker tool 8-)

Havent really heard of total height being a factor....but i could be mistaken!

Either way, your new callsign is "Stretch"....

"No, my name is Roger Murdoch. See, it says it right here. I'm the co-pilot."

Unfortunately not. It has nothing to do with race, religion, sexual orientation etc...

A little late slick... you missed it by 4 posts and about 7 hours.

I know it takes a LONG time to read 1 and a half pages before you post.;)

There are physical limitations which can prevent one from performing necessary duties. For example, a "little person" who stood 3ft tall would be unable to perform their duties and therefore would be unemployable.

Obviously someone who is 6'9 would not fall outside the envelope of being able to perform their function, but there's no problem with discriminating against someone who can't do the job.
