Background question
 

I have an interview with regional coming up soon. On the application they only ask for convictions, which I have none. But I do have an arrest from '03 but I was placed on deferred adjudication and was later dismissed by the court. I know it won't affect my TSA background, since I have already passed that with my current job, but should I disclose this in the interview? I know they might ask during the background check if I don't. It's a tough decision. I don't want to offer information that they didn't ask, but I don't want to think I'm lying if I get hired and didn't disclose. Just your thoughts on this matter. Thanks.

With airlines I would generally recommend disclosing anything they ask for, but nothing more. The airline in question might be restricted by state law from asking as much as they would like...their loss, your gain.

It is often clear-cut, but if there appears to be a grey area I would recommend disclosure to be on the safe side. Only exception might be something which is so bad that you know they won't hire you if they find out...in that case you might not have much to lose by staying mum.

Thanks for the advice. I just don't want the review board to kick my app out just because of that. It was 3 years prior to my flying ever began and my flying career has been flawless. Guess if they ask I'll disclose, if not I won't.

Never lied on the app and didn't disclose what they didn't ask for, they called about a question with the background after the interview, gave them documentation, and I was still offered the job. My nervousness has subsided! Thx for the advice guys.
