Not to mention, entering all the data yourself is a great way to audit your logbook. I found numerous errors in mine.

I started in May of 1997 and finished in late November, doing a little every day and of course keeping up with my current activity. I had about 12500 hours when I was finished - 5500 records or so.

Part of the reason I love the program so much. It makes finding errors a breeze. And when it came time to fill out airlineapps, what took my buddies several days of tortuous data mining, took me about 20 minutes.

So for those of you that only use the electronic logbook. When you go for an interview, do you just print out and sign what is on the computer? ( I have never seen the program so I have no idea what it looks like. ) Putting it in some sort of folder or document protector? Or do you bring that and all of your log books up to the time that you started the electronic log. Sinse I have never been to an interview for a flying job I don't know the importance or criticality of your log book presentation. That is what I am trying to get a grasp on. My guess is that your log book is the same whether printed from a computer or filled out in pen on paper. It is essentially your word saying that you flew those hours. Or do employers want to get into the weeds and see all of your signoffs, instruction signatures and things like that. I am on the fence and trying to decide on going with an electronic book instead of carrying around my Cessna book that I got back when I started.

Thank

Hey guys/gals got a question for you all. I am about to start keeping flight time in logbook pro. How do I go about starting this? Do I have to put in all my previous flights into it? Or do I just start fresh. Putting all flights into logbook pro might take some time.

Thanks

One suggestion is to group your time by aircraft type, then enter each one as just one line in LB Pro. Put something in the remarks referring to your paper logbook, and whenever you go to an interview, be sure you take your paper ones that elaborate on what got consolidated into one line on the electronic one.

This way, you'll still be able to search to find out how much time you have in a particular type, but you won't have to enter each individual flight.

I just printed it out and had Kinkos bind it. No problems at any interview. I dont keep paper anymore, but brought my old ones that had endorsements and such in them.
