Sim prep suggestions
 

I have an upcoming Colgan interview, but dont have access to a Frasca sim to prep for it. How else can I prep for it? Open to suggestions, and I have flight sim with pedals, yoke and a throttle quadrant.

Use a PC flight sim program to do instrument flying. Don't wast time with VFR manuevers, just do IMC work. Practice holds.

You can set the winds on most sims to add some realistic challenges to doing holds. Go around it several times and try to get closer to the perfect in/ outbound leg times and crab angles during each turn, then stop the sim and see how it looks on the plan view record.

Print out some non-precision approaches at rural, preferably mountainous airports and fly them. Those are the hardest to do well because rules-of-thumb and knowledge are required to do them well.

Where in the country are you? Most cities have some sort of fixed base FTD within an hour or two drive. If you can get to one and spend an hour, it will be beneficial, ESPECIALLY if you have no experience with flying an FTD or simulator (not a PCATD).

If you can get in an FTD with the known interview profile, go for it. I worked for a company with a G1000 Baron sim and we got so many guys prepping for the Eagle interview we had the profile taped next to the instructor's station.

Microsoft flight sim should be fine. All the sims that I've flown are touchy and take a little getting used to, so I would imagine that you aren't expected to fly it perfectly during the interview. Just be able to demonstrate that you have a good scan, can enter a hold, fly an approach, etc. I'd spend some time going over some approach plates and also practice briefing them. If you didn't use Jepps during training then you should get familiar with those!
