Interview and ATP written test

Hey,

Is there any benefit during an actual interview and later on in training to have the ATP written out of the way?

Yes, absolutely.

1. Many (most) regionals require that you have the written done to interview.
2. Many (most) regionals will give you a written test containing select questions from the 121 ATP test.
4. The knowledge will help you some in indoc class.
3. When you finally get awarded an upgrade you will probably be too busy with life to be dealing with the written before class starts.

But take the 121 version, not 135 unless you are planning a career in charter.

I HIGHLY recommend Sheppard Air test prep...I got a 100 after about 6-8 hrs studying. VERY good and definitely worth the money.

Thanks a lot. I might check it out. For all of my written exams I used Gleim's and almost always had close to a perfect score...

I don't think that's the case anymore. I know SkyWest and Air Wisconsin require the ATP written, but a lot of the low time regionals like ExpressJet, Eagle, Pinnacle/Colgan/Mesaba don't require it. Eagle doesn't even give a written test in their interview anymore.
