Is there a fairly well recognized school in Mass?
A squadronmate of mine at one time graduated from a MMA and I thought it was in Mass.
That is exactly the type of information that I was looking for.
Unless I"m misunderstanding some of the details in your post, I see pretty clear similarities between your future career path and aviation.
When I lived in Virginia Beach, a really good friend of mine was one of the dispatchers for the pilots out of Norfolk.

I actually really did want to be a commercial pilot, much more so than a merchant marine. When it came down to deciding between getting an aviation degree/regular degree and ratings and trying to fly commercially or getting my bs in marine transportation and my coast guard license, it made much more sense to me at this point in my life, being out of high school for a few years and spending time working, to just follow the path i'm on now. My school's graduation class of last year had a 97% employment rate within three months out of school and an average starting salary of around 60k, and pretty consistent numbers for previous years.
Despite how much I would like to fly, I didn't want to drop a ton of money on ratings and degrees only to spend a ton of time working for next to nothing. I still plan on getting my tickets when I have a job, flying for fun, and possibly jumping industries if things start to look up for the aviation industry or if there is some sort of major upset of the US flagged shipping industry(like a repealing of the jones act).
