Traffic Tickets

I've been clean for the past 4+ years on speeding tickets and all of the sudden - 2 tickets within 2 weeks. It was my bad (one I was late for a flight and the other was a country road). Anyway, do you think that will hurt my chances in an interview? Will the airlines see that the two were just hiccups in a good driving record? Since 2006, I've only gotten 3 speeding tickets.

How many speeding tickets do you have throughout your driving record? How old are you? Getting two tickets in two weeks is not good. In 6 years, you have 3 speeding tickets. Some recruiters see this as a pattern. You WILL be asked about your driving record. Do you have any other driving violations (stop sign, traffic accidents)?

That's starting to push the boundaries of what they will accept without questions. Be prepared to discuss at the interview.

I had two speeding tickets in two weeks back a few years ago and wasn't even questioned about them in my interviews at all. Those were my only two tickets though. I still don't think you'll have a problem as long as you come up with a good way to explain it if you're asked.

I think I have had 5 speeding tickets in my life. 2001, 2005, 2008, and these past two ones. I'm 34 and other than that, a clean record. I'm going to fight the last one since I was going with the flow of traffic (I was still speeding though)... hopefully I can knock it off my record.

Combined with the recent two-in-one-week, that's too many. In the current climate, this is not good. Try to get rid of both if you can (traffic school, pay a lawyer to go to court, whatever).

Don't traffic tickets go off of your record after X number of years? Is there any source, even the national driving record, that will show every ticket you've ever had? I had a whole slew of tickets back when I was a teen, of course that was nearly 20 years ago but I hope that doesn't screw me somehow when I finally land the interview at my dream job...
