Default What did you have a degree in?

Just interested to see the distribution of college degrees across the aviation community...

Do you have one?
Where did you go?
What was your major?

I have two:
- Grad school - Master of Aeronautical Science, Aviation/Aerospace Operations Specialization, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Worldwide Campus (Online).
- Undergraduate - Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics, Minor in Aviation Safety, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Orlando's Extended Campus.

If you don't have a college degree, a majority of pilots will tell you to get a non-aviation degree. I worked as a Computer Programmer for 4 years with my "Aviation" undergrad degree... so in my opinion, it boils down to an individual's skills. However, if someone doesn't plan to going past an undergraduate degree, I agree with the majority and would recommend a non-aviation degree as well.

On another note, I just started teaching an Online Undergrad Aviation class at UVU. I'm currently waiting for ERAU to process my paperwork to start teaching ERAU courses Online. I'm sure the extra income will help as a first year Regional pilot.

Unless you are a doctor, an engineer, or some specialist that requires a focused degree, the field of the degree does not matter.
Just get one.
