Smile Advice for the wives too please...

EK decent/good package or roll the dice with U.S. airlines prospects for the next 2 years? Hub has 13,000 tt jets, (727, 737-2/e, MD-11, ER 195..) 3300 pic. Do you really think the US market will turn around for pilots next year? We don't live in the US so it is really hard to understand what is going on now. Sounds like it could be good but I am afraid to believe it.

I would have posted this in a different forum but since I am new I don't know that I am allowed to. sorry.

Thanks guys.

There has been talk of a pilot shortage for a long time now. That being said the retirement numbers are staggering beginning in the next 2-3 years and continuing for about the following decade. There is also the new FAA rest requirements that will take place in the next year and a half which will require increased staffing almost everywhere.

These facts being said, you still have to consider other external factors (oil prices, state of the economy, etc).

No one can really tell you if in 1-2 years the golden gates will be opening for the airlines. In my opinion in that time frame (towards the end more than likely) every airline in the US will be hiring like mad.

Just my .02

Sure thing. Best of luck to you and your husband!

Hopefully when more people on here see this you'll get some more info. I'd also recommend doing a search for what you're looking for. Lots of people on these forums with far more experience than I have.
