So you know how you enter in all of your certificate information on the application, PRIA forms, they want photocopies of everything etc. for most employers' applications/interviews? ...well if you have an expired Flight Instructor Certificate, should you include that as one of your certificates, or exclude it, since it has expired? Or would they still want it included for "records" purposes? Just wonderinggg...

I wouldn't include it since its expired.( not valid)

I would include it to prove you had it. An expired one is better than none at all.

If you do not have a current CFi do not put that you have one.

Just put expired next to it in parenthesis. It's shows you went through the traing, and have the knowledge/experience etc....

I did the same (expired) thing. It just takes a reinstatement practical to get it back.

I had the same questions in my mind as I went to apply to airlines after my CFI expired, as I let in expire when I was in new hire training at my first airline in 2002. Since then I have always listed the CFI experience on my work history and also checked the boxes for instructor experience, but I have made no mention of the actual certificate nor do I list it under that section. It has never seemed to be a problem since I have been hired at three airlines since 2002, one regional, one major and one legacy. As always though, put what you feel is best on your applications, don't shortchange yourself, and be able to explain everything and you will be just fine.
