Driving History

Guys and Gals,

Quick question on driving history reporting required on airlineapps.com. There is no time frame listed (last ten years) so I guess they want every ticket in your past. I have been driving for close to 20 years and have had several tickets (none within the last 5 years) but I would not be able to recall every ticket let alone the specifics of every ticket.. I pulled a state record, but it only goes back 5 years. Is there something I am missing here, should I take a SWAG at what tickets I have had, or is there some way of getting your entire driving history..

Thanks for the help

Short of scouring the records in every state where you MIGHT have gotten a ticket in the past, there's no good single source of info for that.

I would just give them approximate dates of what you remember. Be as specific as you can recall accurately, but don't leave any gaps where they could find something that doesn't fall into your SWAG.

"Several minor speeding tickets between 1985-2003, none since 2004"

But they better not find reckless driving in 1992, or speeding in 2010.

If it's not on your record then how would they know unless you told them? Perhaps if it's not on your record they may have dropped the ticket from your record and just had you pay the fine. I wouldn't want to report something if it was a warning and not a ticket because I could not recall which it was.

National Driver Registry would be the other source to check. You might be like many, having had driver licenses in several states. Aside from checking your state of residence, a NDR check also shows previous infractions from those states participating in the driver license compact (agreement between states to share information). It's handled today through the NDR, but like the original Compact, not all states participate, and not all states share the safe codes regarding offenses.
