Job fairs: bring logbooks? technical q's?
Hey guys, I've never attended a job fair before and had 2 questions regarding them.. Should you bring your logbooks? Should I expect to be asked any technical questions? Thanks!

As far as technical questions go, same thing, unless they're doing on-site interviews, I wouldn't worry about technical questions.
What you do want to do is study up on the company you plan to talk to. Google them, click on every blink on their website, read the investor documents and then type their name into YouTube. It sounds silly to look up a company on YouTube, but there's sometimes good interviews with the CEOs or news stories on them.
Good luck!

Are you going to the one in ORD? I'll be there!
I had a couple of questions
Should I bring any LOR's?
What are some good questions to ask each regional recruiter?
How quick can process be to become hired at a regional?
Thanks for any help I'm a CFI from a small town and don't know any regional pilots.

You do not need to need to know any regional pilots in order to get a job at a regional airline. If you meet the ATP minimums you will have a good chance at being successful. I would bring an updated resume (on resume paper) and any LOR's you have to the job fair. Logbooks are not necessary because there will not be any on-site interviews. The questions that can be asked are:
- Why our airline?
- Tell me about yourself?
- Why should we hire you?
- What makes you a good pilot?
For most people this is there first job fair and the experience can seem overwhelming. Take some time to look around and see how the process works. Talk to one airline and learn the types of questions that will be asked. Leave the ballroom and write down the questions that the recruiter asked. Review what you said and see how you can improve your answers. Go back into ballroom and talk to your next airline. Leave the ballroom and repeat the steps. You will get a pretty good idea about what is being asked and you will become comfortable with the process.
Another aspect of the job fair is to network. Many people come to the job fair and never talk to another pilot. Talk to as many people as you can, get names and phone numbers. Start building relationships because you never know where your next job lead will come from.
The most important thing to bring to the job fair is a great attitude. It makes a huge difference with the recruiters. They are looking for motivated indivduals who will work hard at their company.
