Default CLE base for Express Jet

For those of you who can answer this. What does the future of the Cleveland base at Express Jet hold? Trying to make a career decision based on this. My wife is able to secure a job in the Cleveland area in the medical field and I would like to go somewhere I can sit reserve in base. I have been out of them game since 2010.

I left Republic for some personal reasons and that I seen no movement in the future. I have now earned my bachelors degree and have a decent paying job. I miss the flying but have been reading that the industry might be making a turn for the better.

If anyone can answer my first question I would appreciate it.

If anyone can shed some light on what the real side of the industry is doing please do. I know Express Jet is going through contract negotiations and might be through with them by the end of summer. I am not looking to make a move until at least the end of the year or maybe even beginning of next year.

I think this question depends on United's future in CLE. ExpressJet will stay as long as United is in town. There've been indications that United has a diminishing interest since they now have hubs in ORD, EWR, and IAD. For ExpressJet, CLE is more of the quiet base. Some on reserve would go weeks without getting a call from scheduling. Lately though, they've been using most of the reserves.

I'm in the same boat- I have an interview with XJT and while I made up my mind to follow everyone's advice to not commute while on reserve, I'd really like to stay in CLE (wife, friends, etc). That being said, I heard the new MCI base will be the most junior. Who knows.
