In the application process
Ladies and Gents,
I apologize in advance if this is not the proper location for this thread but being a new guy, my options are quite limited. I am in the beginning stages of applying to the regionals and I wanted some advice on strategy. From what I hear, being based at home is the way to go. I live in Florida and I was looking for some advice on what regional what give me a good shot at being based here. I am not really worried on whether or not it's a jet or prop, I'm looking to stay as close to home as possible. I figured, pay is pretty much equal everywhere you go anyway. Thanks in advance for your responses. |

Eagle has a MIA base. As long as your not based across the country you can commute easily to a New York domincile from FL. I did it for 6 years. Don't get me wrong, it is always easier to live where your based and I don't miss commuting.

You can probably hold MIA EMJ at Eagle. I believe new hires are getting MIA, if not on the initial bid, you would be able to hold it in short time. Initially you may get JFK/LGA if not MIA and like the previous guy posted, it can be an okay commute as far as commuting is concerned.

Ok. Thanks for the response! I'm out of RSW and we have quite a few flight going to NY on a daily basis so I definitely agree with that. I was more interested in Eagle and ExpressJet so I guess my chances are somewhat good to get MIA or NY. Thanks again and stay safe everyone!

Yes, I hear that! I have no shortage of friends who are all trying to talk me out of going to either one! Lol! I understand everyone has their frustrations. At the end of the day, we just need to be happy with our choice and make the best of it.
