CFI renewal questions

+ 1 for American Flyers. Pay once and renew for the rest of your career...well, as long as American Flyers stays in business and since they've been around a while, I like to think I'll get at least 2 or 3 out of them and that'll still put me ahead of most other online FIRCs out there.

How is the content of American Flyers online FIRC? I understand that its pay once for life, and that's great. I am more curious to know about the actual content of the course compared to other online FIRCs (AOPA, King, etc.)
How many hours does it take to get thorough?

I got through it in around an hour. Content seemed similar to most of the others. I just clicked through it without reading 99% of it and passed with no problem. It's an open book test and each lesson is in PDF form. Knowing how to use CTRL+F in a PDF = guaranteed 100%.

Not only an 80% pass rate, but that needs to be based on a minimum of 5 recommendations. In other words if you had 4 of 4 of your students pass their practical check ride (100% pass rate), this wouldn't meet the requirement because its not based on a total of 5 applicants.

Here's another question to add to the mix. My renewal month is November. I completed a FIRC course in August and took my paperwork to the FSDO at the beginning of September. I haven't received my certificate in the mail yet. Should I expect to see it in November or should the certificate have been here by now? This is the first time I have ever renewed early, so it is a new territory of experience. Thanks ahead of time!
