where to in 2 years?
Hi guys, first time poster, looking for some advice.
I'm a Q400 FO in Australia with 2 years left for my training bond, by the time the bond runs out, I would have roughly 1500 co-pilot time on the dash. My goal is to get onto international widebodies, ideally I'd be hoping to get into Qantas or Virgin Australia to achieve my goal. however, plan B is to get into the likes of EK or EY. however for my plan B, both EK AND EY require jet hours before they consider your application. I'm looking at getting into Asia for a couple of years get my jet hours up. I'm wondering if anyone has done something similar (eg, contract expat FO on jets for a couple of years, before getting into EK or EY). Thanks. |
Most contract expat opportunities require time in type, or at least a similar type. Ie, they don't usually hire prop pilots to fly jets.
Any RJ's down under? If not maybe look to the US...we might have an RJ pilot shortage in a year or two. |
I'd say get that jet time wherever you can. Lots of contract gigs in China right now.
