ticket

I am also looking to go to the career expo if anyone has a ticket they can sell let me know

Confirm the career expo is the meet and greet session with various airlines?

When I attempt to register at the obap webpage I only have the option for a $490 ticket to attend various galas/luncheons/etc. If I still want to attend do I have to pay $490 to walk in the door, or can anyone show up and walk around the convention floor free of charge?

I emailed OBAP and they are no longer excepting transfers. The deadline was June 27th. They also told me they are completely sold out for the Career Expo (meeting with airlines). They did open a limited amount of registrations after they sold out, I am not sure if they are still available. I would email [email protected] to inquire.

I still don't understand why they have the full registration for $490 up on their website...

How were the lines today?

AeroCrewSolut 08-06-2014 10:02 AM

The lines are long for all major airlines. Be prepared to stand around for long periods.

I thought the appointment times were supposed to remedy the long lines?

What about OWAP?

Just got back from day one of the OBAP. I was able to speak with each and every recruiter from every airline where I wanted to work. I got great insight and feedback, got my name and face out there a bit more and overall I felt it was well worth my time and money. The people running the conference were extremely friendly and helpful. They tried to help things run smoothly with the times, but by later in the afternoon people were still waiting in long lines. Longest line I stood in was Delta (close to two hours), shortest was FedEx and jetBlue (no lines). If you are going I would say hit up 'the big three' as soon as possible and you'll have plenty of time to speak with others towards the end of the day.

For full disclosure I am a white male and this was my first OBAP conference. I would say close to 80-90 percent were white males, 99.5 percent wearing suits, and the recruiters and personnel putting on the event were very nice. Overall a nice experience.

Thanks for the info!

Did you by any chance speak with JEtBlue and if so, what did you learn about their preference this time around?

I sure wish I could have gone.
