Lumosity for the Cognitive Test ???
What is a good LPI (Score)?
|
1421 here. Don't know if it's a good score, but I did pass the DL cog screening if that's the info you're looking for.
I told you my score....sooooo...how big is yours??? |
Wow! How long have you been playing? What was you LPI when you first started?
I ( Age 42) just started about 3 days ago ~ 700. My percentage for the games have been in the 92-100% and many times 100% but I guess my speed/reaction time is too slow. I'd rather take an extra second to be sure. I think/hope my baseline LPI is skewed because I only only completed 3 of the first 7 test on day 1 (I was just trying to get thru the test to see what is was like). Didn't really take it seriously on day 1. I'll be OK. When did you interview? |
I'm a 1466. I recommend making flash cards for the flag man (PM me if you like, pretty sure I still have a .ppt that you can cut up), memorize UXLT-O, and go to the cogres website - CogScreen - and look at the test descriptions/examples. That worked for me.

My score improved dramatically over the first two weeks of playing. Like Wallace said, there seems to be an inherent point advantage from continued and consistent playing. My advice? Have fun with the Lumosity games, but study Waldo's gouge!

And this applies to Major Airlines how?

I wouldn't worry about cog test.....Panel interview and Knowledge test are where you should spend your time. If you're 121 the knowledge test isn't that hard.
|
The guy I had on the jumpseat a couple of weeks ago would disagree. He said he was told he was not given the job because of one of the scores he made on the cog test; the rest of the interview was fine according to what he said he was told by AK who gave him the bad news. He was most frustrated by the fact that he didn't know what part of the cog test he didn't pass.

Here's what's going on:
The more hoops and ridiculous tests a pilot must endure to be hired, the less likely he will jump ship from carrier to carrier just to improve working conditions. Sound like fun? I'm telling you - none of these tests a competent pilot make. But what do I know. |

I didn't do any prep for it... if you've played video games and are reasonably good at them, it's easy.
|
I only wish I could find and download the scene from the "Right Stuff" comparing the monkeys demonstrating their cognitive skills and the astronauts doing the same. I believe they were all in chairs designed to disorientate them.

LPI =1542 now,1552 high (last night)
looking for anyone who wants to chat about lumosity, i have perfect scores on a few games, would be happy to pass on some tips and of course receive any advice, good luck to all

Lumosity appears to be useful prep for airline cog tests, anecdotally speaking.

I feel like I should be able to work in a clever divorce/wife joke here but it's not coming to me. |
