Hiring process at regionals
Hello
I was just wondering when you apply for the regional, beside the criminal background check, do they call your previous employer to confirm that you actually worked there, or is that just a formality they won't check your employer? Do you have to put down every single employer that you worked for? Even the temporary jobs that you had? Thank you |

If you had a flying job they are required to send a PRIA request. If you had any other kind of DOT covered position they have to send a alcohol/drug test request. As for non-flying non-DOT jobs, I'm sure some are more diligent to call than others. If it was your most recent employer then odds are they will probably call. The place you worked for 10 years ago? Probably not so much. You want to be as open, complete and transparent as possible. It is MUCH easier to explain something negative that you disclosed rather trying to explain why you didn't disclose something. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

OP, you have to assume that they will contact all your previous employers, and they will undoubtedly call a) all previous aviation employers and b) the most recent 1-3 jobs you have had (depending on duration).
Don't leave anything out. If the company is out of business, say so. If you got paid cash under the table, don't worry about it. You can get cash under the table and still have a reputation for being a hard worker. They won't check tax returns. |
Thank you for the all the comments. I was more referring to non flying jobs, because in the past 10 years the only job that I actually stayed in was for 3 years, after that job I had like 5 other jobs that I either quite or got fired and they didn't last for maybe 2-3 month. Do I have to disclose a non flying job that I was in for 3 weeks and then got fired from too?
