Endeavor Interview (late March 2015)
 
Interviewed with Endeavor Air in late March 2015.
Prior experience: 3800 hours military, multiple platforms, evaluator and instructor.

Offered Job? Yes

Entire experience was very good. As mentioned previously, no tricks or surprises and entire team is genuinely interested in you and your success.

Travel, hotel and cab rides were covered by Endeavor. No issues.

The interview was professional and entire team was pleasant.

You will start the day with a power point presentation for about an hour led by an Endeavor pilot, who was very nice, warm and happy to answer any and all questions. He also was very open about upgrade, attrition, flow through, fleet make up, base seniority, bidding, benefits, lodging during training and the Delta tie in, with Endeavor being a wholly owned regional of Delta. Very positive start to the day.

He also told us what to expect in the interview and offered a few vectors about potential questions. Keep in mind that he (or she) is also an "interviewer" although he made it clear to us that he was NOT doing any/our interviews on the day we were there.

Once initial intro briefing etc is done, you are seated in the holding area and it's time to wait. The interview teams will call you back when it's your turn. The panel for my interview had 2 human resources pros (one was observing), and two Captains.
The HR pro kinda runs the process and starts out by driving through your application. There were some questions along the way too.

My questions were:
1. Tell us about yourself in 3 min or less. They followed up with some specific questions about my resume...acknowledging that 3 minutes is a bit tough to cover one's entire career, etc., especially if you have been at it for a while. Asked me to tell them about my training and how it went during each aircraft transition.

2. Tell us about your history in aviation and what brings you here to Endeavor today? Why do you want to work here?

3. Tell us about CRM and describe a situation when you had to "use it."

4. They provide a notebook with METAR/TAF and approach plates (both Jepp and NOS)... First question is to Interpret a RAW METAR, then the RAW TAF. What's the weather? Scenario is that you are taking off from XYZ and going to Destination 1. Do you need a takeoff alt from initial departure location? Do you need an alternate at destination? If so, let's assume that we choose destination 2 as our alternate...is the weather good enough for us to use Dest 2 as our legal alternate? Basically, you need to be about to APPLY the METAR/TAF info as if you were actually going to fly the plan, etc.

5. They pick an approach from their "book" and ask you to brief it just as you would in the airplane. You can use either the Jepp plate OR the NOS plate (BOTH are provided). And, let's say you fly the approach and have to go missed approach and go hold...how would you enter holding?

6. Airspace: know A, B, C, D airspace. Where does A begin. What are speed limits in B, C, D?

7. What is RVR? Only wanted what RVR stands for...no more.

8. Tell us about a system (s) on your airplane?

9. How does Density altitude impact lift?

10. How does icing impact a wing (aerodynamically)?

11. What do you expect from the company?

12. How did you prepare for this interview?

13. What would your supervisor say about your attendance record?

14. Any questions for us or anything you want to add?

Once interview is complete you are escorted back to holding area while team compares notes and debriefs. After a short wait the HR pro will come get you and bring you back to the same interview room and discuss the interview, etc.
Result: I was offered a position with Endeavor.
If you are offered the job they take you to another room and you get to fill out some paperwork (and you will need a 10 year 'where you lived' history with dates, addresses, etc). Once done, it's time for fingerprints, mugshot, and then they call you a cab to get you to the golden-flow test just down the road. You will have a voucher for both cab rides (includes the ride from golden-flow to terminal).

A special shout-out and THANKS to Jackie A (HR coordinator)...she takes care of you before, during, and after your interview. Very pleasant and helpful.
