I think the Springer's final moment here is that it all depends on what works best for you. They are both good companies. If you don't mind the commute out to the east coast and like what JB has to offer, stick around.
If you plan on staying in the Midwest and don't mind a potentially long upgrade, then southwest is probably your best bet.
I will tell you in 21 years if I made the right choice.

Good situation to be in, congratulations. I think one thing in the + for JB is that the sub-par health insurance won't be an issue for you (your wife's will be great). By the time you may need JB's I think the first contract will be well squared away.
A good friend on mine has been at SWA for a number of years. I think the honeymoon is over. He's happy to work there but not really thrilled going in anymore. (Seems normal). Just comparing schedules between the two companies it's apples and oranges. He does 4-5 legs and ends up in Amarillo, I do one leg to SFO. He does another 4-5 leg day, I do a red eye down to the Caribbean. Generally speaking he wishes he was doing different flying.
Another frustration seems to be the company's lack of change. Not just management, but the line pilot is very stuck in the "This is how we do it at SWA mentality." The culture is strong, which is good but again it can be frustrating.
Good luck.

Most of the places you'll commute out of are SWA domiciles.
You want to live someplace warm? JetBlue would be good but realize that the upgrade into their bases is going to be...forever.
Yeah, upgrade at jetBlue is shorter than SWA, in the northern domiciles. Like US Airways, the upgrade on the E190 is a year! But the catch? It's in Philly!

That will not always be the case.
Jfk is pretty much done growing all they will do is shift the 190s and go with the 320 and 321.
Boston has a little more growth left but its almost built out.
Fll and MCO seems to be where all future growth will be.
So yes while the quick upgrades are in the north that will not always be so.

I really think they waited to long.
If the current CEO fails yes but if he does what he says jetblue should start doing very well. They should have bought us two years ago.

Those were pushed way back I forget the exact date, if anything we would replace the current ones for the new version coming out in a few years, any real growth aircraft would be the airbus, jut my opinion.

There are many things SW wants that they can not acquire organically.
