Headset
I'm not sure if this is the right subsection for this question, mods please move this if it isn't.
Do airlines normally supply your headset, or do pilots purchase their own? I discovered that there are no adapters for my military Bose noise cancelling headset (non-6 pin, it just has the single plug). I'm considering getting a civilian one, but if they're normally supplied by the company that hires you I'll probably just hold off and use the borrowed aeroclub headset. |
Most Airlines do not provide you with a headset. Every company is different, however, and some will provide you with a stipend to purchase your own.
Most commonly, you will be required to purchase your own headset. |

Bose sells just the mic on their website........i did that a few years ago and its been working great.........you just unscrew the two small screws holding the mic assembly on and swap it out with the dual cord(civilian impedence) one you ordered online.......easy!
initially, i went the cheap route and bought the impedence adapter cord, but they aren't very durable. |
