The money is out there.
Your forgot to mention that your are at Major and for most of us this can take a decade to get there.

I'm questioning his "average $90k" figure he wrote.

For a commuter airline? Sure, when you factor in FO and CA salaries. But not at a major.

Averages don't depend where you're at; that's why it's called an average.

Good for you.

Because $90k is real when you factor in years of making $15-$25k while building time and working at regionals.
If you fail to make it to a major your average will be closer to $50k

This is bad info. I slaved away at crap pilot jobs for 10 years. My buddies in the outside world had more time off and were making more money. My career finally paid off when got to a legacy. Now I make more and have more time off than them. I have 25 years left in my career. The ten years was an investment in myself. Painful but definitely worth the price of admission. Regionals suck. It was also the most fun I had flying. I enjoy the flying now but it is different.

Best advice I received:
Make the most of every job and have a good time at each one of them. If you're miserable at the bad jobs you're gonna be miserable at the good one when you finally get there. Enjoy the ride.

Good luck!

No pilot salary can make up for 10 years of lost compound interest. CS grads can make $100k right out of the gate.

Never said that. I will say this: name another career where as you progress you continually make more money AND have more time off. All my buddies are in mgt. now. They have cell phones that go off at home. My job shuts off completely when we park. You also wouldn't catch me sitting in front of a computer eight hours a day for any amount of money. My job wins every argument in my mind. That tells me I'm doing what I should be doing. If it doesn't.. More power to you.

Al great outlook on why many of us stay with this line of work despite the drawbacks and the key is to try and have a positive attitude even when things aren't their best. Cheers!

I agree with that. It's why I do this too, though the second thoughts seem to be creeping in a bit lately.
