Quit and now back
If I quit a regional and decide to come back a few years later, I know I will lose all seniority and start over. Will I start back at year one pay or pick up where I left off? I'm sure it depends on the company but curious if anyone has done this and what the outcome was...

There is a difference between seniority and longevity. I know it's not really a comparison but more of an example. If I leave the Military at 10 years and come back a few years later, my pay is still at the 10 year mark when I return.

What makes you think the same regional airline would hire you back if you quit? That's rather presumptuous.
I would always assume quitting a company would leave a bad taste in their mouth and possibly make you undesirable for rehire. If you were lucky enough to come back to the same company, I would expect a brand new file to be started with no credit for tenure. That's worst case, of course, but very possible. Even if they tell you something different now, there are no promises for future policy or circumstances. Think twice before you resign a job you may want back in the future. |
