Anyone talk to regionals at Vegas job fairs
for anyone that attended the FAPA or OBAP job fair this week in Vegas--
were any of the regionals offering interview dates on the spot or are they just collecting resumes?
With all the talk on these threads about many regionals finding it hard to get new hires I would think they would be competing for applicants attention at the job fairs by offering interview dates on the spot.
I went to the NGPA job fair in Jan and there were very few pilots talking to reps at the regional tables. Everyone was standing in line for hours at the majors.
Just wondering what it was like this week in vegas.

Observing the people at each of the booths, Piedmont seemed to have the most traffic. They had cool poker chip hand outs and boxers. They had really friendly people that actually smiled and walked around the whole event talking to other airlines and people. Their bright shirts were hard to miss and each of them were extremely friendly. I stopped by twice and collected playing cards and chips hahaha! Each time they were friendly and smiling! They seem young and fresh!
Mesa was awesome too! Their pilots were really nice and they had some cool handouts that I would actually use. They had a lot of good information about their future and seemed like they were filling classes etc. Their pilots were really trying to make you feel welcomed and not sugar coat anything. Good industry info! I got a card for a captain there who is a line check airman. He seemed really open to help
Skywest seemed standoffish and unapproachable to me.
I talked to a few of the people fishing around the regional tables and 3 of them interviewed while at FAPA. Havent heard of any interviewing at OBAP but the day isnt over. I had to leave kinda early. All 3 said Piedmont interviewed them on the spot and were given the job. One guy said they were the only ones doing interviews but I went up and talked with Republic and Mesa who each said they would give an interview. So regionals interviewing were Piedmont, Mesa, and Republic apparently.
Only heard of people actually interviewing and getting jobs at Piedmont but obviously didnt talk to everyone. Again, they had a lot of foot traffic.
Great turn out, not too packed, short lines!!!

Thanks for the report.
Sounds similar to what it was like at the NGPA in Jan.
I talked with several of the folks at the regional tables back then.
I didn't hear of anyone giving interviews at that time.
People at Republic were very friendly and gave a lot of info. Got good reception from Allegiant too.
Funny, got the same impression from Skywest, maybe it was the same guy.
