Is P135 PIC and/or Turbine SEL worth anything
Would 1000 hrs PIC turbine SEL (Cessna Caravan, PC-12, etc.) at a P135 outfit be worth anything to get on with the majors, NetJets and foreign outfits like Emirates, Cathay, Etihad, etc.?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Short answer, No. Here is an excerpt from Emirates.
To apply, you must have a valid ICAO ATPL (or USA equivalent). We will accept applications from pilots from multiengine, multicrew, turboprop and jet aircraft, including business jets, with a MTOW of 10 tonnes or more.

Many simply ask for or prefer 1000tpic without any other specifics.
If you also possess a decent amount of multi-engine time, be it PIC or SIC, I believe this would suffice and allow you to check the box.

For the most part no. US Majors only accept ASEL turbine time because some fighters only have one engine. Van time is not equivalent to F-16 time.
The only place it might be useful is to meet somebody's TPIC mins if you also have other experience (121 or mil SIC) which makes you reasonably competitive. It can allow you to check the box, but that by itself will not make you competitive.

It is worth something? Yes. It's turbine time, it's pilot in command time, and it's experience. If that's the sum total of the experience, it will be inadequate to make a move to a major airline for two reasons. It's not multi engine experience, and it's not a competitive value.

From having talked with a few airline recruiters it seems like they are starting to lean heavier on PIC time.
Multi PIC is still preferable to Single Turbine.
But if they are deciding between a guy with 300 SIC King Air and another guy with 200 PIC Caravan, 150 SIC King Air they are picking the Caravan pilot.
